The Jekyll Island Authority announced on Tuesday the rescheduling of the popular Shrimp-and-Grits Festival

The festival is often a coastal favorite along the coast and throughout the state combining southern dish with family-friendly entertainment, over 100 art and crafts vendors, live music, kids’ zone, food, a craft brew fest, wildlife demonstrations, and more.

The Authority said the 2019 Shrimp and Grits Festival will be in late September. In 2017, the festival was interrupted by Hurricane Irene. The festival will continue as scheduled next year and will settle into its new date, the first weekend in November, in 2020.

The dates for future Shrimp and Grits Festivals are as follows which places the future dates in November after the peak of hurricane season which is in September.

2019- September 20-22

2020- November 6-8

2021- November 5-7

2022- November 4-6
