Republican Candidate for Georgia Governor, and Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brian Kemp reaffirms his support for Spaceport Camden.
“Camden County is showing what is possible when local leaders come together, think outside of the traditional box, and find a way to maximize their community’s greatest assets.
“Camden is the perfect location for a spaceport. Local leaders and the vast majority of Camden’s hardworking citizens are supportive of this bold vision. Georgia Southern University’s Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development has assessed that Spaceport Camden will generate an annual $22 million impact in Camden County alone.
“I have proudly supported Spaceport Camden from the first time I heard about this amazing project and all it can do for Camden County and our entire state. I continue to do so now.
“I also remain committed that, as governor, I will work hand in hand with local leaders to develop Spaceport Camden into the best aerospace facility on the east coast.”
Spaceport Camden has been championed in the General Assembly by Camden County’s own Representative Jason Spencer (R-HD-180) with his HB 1: The Georgia Space Flight Act which was signed into law in May of 2017 by Governor Nathan Deal.
Kemp faces Lt. Governor Casey Cagle in the July 24 runoff elections for the Republican nomination. The winner will face Democrat Stacey Abrams.
