After hitting .857 on the week, Berry College’s Karlie Jarrett has been selected as the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Player-of-the-Week for games played last weekend.
Jarrett led the Vikings softball team to their seventh, eighth, and ninth run-rule victories of the year in a three-game sweep against Sewanee. She added a run in Berry’s 13-0 victory over the Tigers on Friday, then went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in the Viking’s 10-2 game one win on Saturday. She scored three runs and added a stolen base in the victory as well.
Jarrett finished the weekend 2-for-3 at the plate in game two on Saturday against the Tigers. She scored once in the contest and added a bases clearing triple in the top of the fifth inning to ensure the 11-0 Berry victory.
On the week, Jarrett was 6-for-7 at the plate, scoring five runs while knocking in three RBIs for the Vikings. She also added one stolen base and posted a 1.143 slugging percentage. In the field, Jarrett added a double play on the weekend. She is batting .600 on the season, leading the Vikings to a national-leading 16-0 start, as well as a 6-0 record in the SAA.
