Five Chattooga County All Star Cheerleaders won a bid to attend the Summit Competition in Orlando. Attending the Summit from Chattooga County will be Anisten Stewart and Briana Finley of the Stingrays Storm (YL3). BR- Gracie Canada, Tacobyus Shepherd, and Tabitha Neal of the Stingrays Eclipse CoEd (LR5).
The Summit is one of the most prestigious competitions in the sport of All Star Cheer. It is held annually typically in early May at the Walt Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida by Varsity All Star. The event was created originally in 2013 solely for the best cheer teams from across the nation, meaning a win at this competition will label your team the best of the best making it high on the list of aspiration for the majority of all-star cheerleaders. This competition includes Youth, Junior, and Senior teams consisting of levels 1 through restricted 5, and requires winning a bid during the regular season to compete. All winning teams of each division also receive the highly coveted champion’s rings. Earning a ring is something that is coveted in the world of all-star cheerleading, and only a select few athletes achieve this honor in their all-star careers. Bringing home a win also earns a large amount of notoriety for the cheer program and their athletes as well as celebratory end to their all-star season.
The athletes have worked hard all season putting in many hours with their teams and coaches with one goal in my mind, and that is finishing their season off with the best of the best at the 2018 Summit.
