Trion Baseball Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Christian Heritage
The Bulldogs snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Christian Heritage on Monday. The game was tied at two with Trion batting in the top of the seventh when Colt Trammell singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
The Bulldogs evened things up at two in the top of the fifth inning. Noah Edgeworth doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Blaine Woody earned the victory on the hill for Trion. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out eight and walking one. Andy Allen threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Gentry toed the rubber for Christian Heritage. He lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out six.
Trion racked up eight hits in the game. Trammell and Edgeworth all managed multiple hits for Trion 2019 Trion High School Baseball Varsity. Edgeworth and Trammell each managed two hits to lead the team.
Chiesa went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Christian Heritage in hits. Christian Heritage was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Reece made the most plays with seven.
