UPDATED: Police have made an arrest in Tuesday’s South Rome shooting. 16-year-old Niazua “Nigel” Brown was arrested in Cartersville Wednesday.
PREVIOUS POSTING: Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor confirms that the man who was shot near Grover Street and Wilson Avenue Tuesday has died.
The victim has been identified as Cornelius Driver of Hardy Avenue. He was 23 years old. He was pronounced dead at the emergency room of Floyd Medical Center shortly after arrival.
An autopsy will be performed on Driver’s body at the GBI Crime Lab.

Officers responded to an incident around
Officers responded to an incident around 3pm Tuesday afternoon. One victim, a black male, was taken to Floyd Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds.
The area was taped off, and the Crime Scene Unit was called. Police on the scene offered no further details of the incident.
