As a key member of the R&R Marketing Team, the Social Media & PR Coordinator is responsible for promoting the tourist destinations Rock City Gardens, Ruby Falls and other Lookout Mountain attractions and events, via storytelling through social media channels, as well as facilitating parts of the public relations function. Under the direction of the R&R leadership team, the Social Media & PR Coordinator is responsible for performing the following duties.
Create strategic content directed by each brand’s social media strategy including photos, video and messaging. Monitor, dialogue and post accurately on all social media sites, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest.
Research and keep up-to-date with the latest SoMe trends.
Report SoMe insights monthly.
Maintain social media calendar of content.
Report weekly on job functions and projects.
Monitor online influencer sites such as TripAdvisor.com, Yelp and Google.
Assist in writing and gathering materials for award nominations.
Be an onsite liaison for film crews when needed.
Vet bloggers in qualifying them as media.
Model appropriate guest and partner interaction at all times. Ability to convey a conservative and professional image to guests.
Produces clean, clear copy that requires minimal editing or revision.
Assist in other PR functions as needed.
Bachelor’s degree and preferred in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field; 1-3 years’ experience preferred; or equivalent combination of both.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to take initiative and multi-task while meeting deadlines.
Comfortable meeting and talking with people in both individual and group settings. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of managers, guests or the general public.
Possess an outgoing, friendly personality and attitude with a desire to provide quality service.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, blogs, Instagram, Google Plus and Hootsuite.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, & holidays as needed, specifically the openings of select events.
Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
Ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why ideas are analytically sound.
Discretion to identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
Proficient in AP style.
Eager to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility.
Able to take direction well. Willingness to adapt and adjust to changing needs.
Ability to speak on camera in a professional manner preferred.
Video experience preferred.
Graphic arts and Photoshop experience a plus.
Other languages a plus.
