View of annual antique show at St Simons Island.

While there’s lots of good reasons to spend some time at St.Simons Island, one event provides unlimited reasons to visit: The St. Simons Antique and Vintage Show Under the Oaks. The annual antique show is set as a two-day event on specific weekends.

A customer and vendor previously, Mr. Doug Robertson recently acquired the show, and has some plans for the island event. It has always been an antique show, and will continue to still be, but with some additions. His plan is to add some vintage, art and oddities to the vendors’ line up. Ms. Jane Vincent has partnered with Mr. Robertson, and says she is looking forward to working with him for “this new and exciting chapter for the St. Simons Antique and Vintage Show Under the Oaks”. She elaborated, “He wants to continue seeing all of the amazing and unique antiques that have always brought a crowd as well as bring in other eye-catching treasures for shoppers and potential customers.”

There will be a plethora of items under the white tents, items such as:

  • Antique furniture
  • Collectibles
  • Primitives
  • Jewelry
  • Silver
  • Glassware
  • And much, much more!

Antique dealers throughout the southeast will be on hand to feature a vast array of fine and fun merchandise. Mr. Robertson offered some advice to those new antiquing. “Its truly a hunt, scanning, looking for something that catches your eye. That surface, that patina, that unique item whether you like old books or bronzes”, he explained. “Then you see it, something that pulls you towards it and you just have to have it. Ive been chasing the dream for over twenty years or longer. I’m a second-generation dealer, it’s in my blood. This is a new challenge and I jumped at the chance to take over the show.”

During the 37th annual antique show and sale, stop by the Coastal Animal Rescue Society (C.A.R.S.) and say hello to the adoptable dogs and cats! Participate in their raffle as well.
