It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas around the Golden Isles.  With the weather clearing up on Saturday, many of the events are beginning this weekend to kick off the start of the Christmas season.

From tree lighting ceremonies, Christmas performances, and holiday parades, the Golden Isles have all the events you will not want to miss to get you in the spirit of the Christmas!

On Jekyll Island’s Historic District, you can ring in the holidays with the lighting of the great tree this Saturday.  Festivities begin with a Candy Cane Hunt and continue with Story Time with Santa throughout the day.  There will be shopping at the Holiday Market, dancing, singing , live music and food; a great family time to be had by all.

Image may contain: tree and outdoorSkating under the twinkling lights of the Historic District at the Jekyll Island Skating Village will be in its new riverfront location just steps from the Christmas tree. With beautiful views of the Jekyll River, skaters will feel the Christmas spirit under the majesty of the ancient oaks and historic mansions.

The synthetic ice rink and real ice skates takes the pain and cold out of ice skating and is easy for kids and adults of all ages.  Admission is $5 and includes skate rental.

Image may contain: night and textIn Downtown Brunswick, the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is rescheduled for Friday, November 30th. Kicking off the season’s events at 5:30 PM, Santa will be there along with carriage rides throughout area.

The Brunswick DDA and Downtown Merchants will hold the month-long Festival of Lights and Window Wonderland Christmas Window decorating contest until Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Historic Downtown Brunswick.

On Saturday, December 1 the Annual Brunswick Christmas parade, will start at 5:30 PM at Howard Coffin Park, and proceed along Gloucester Street!

The Christmas Bazaar returns to the squares along Newcastle Street on December 8 from 10 AM to 2 PM. Also that day, from 2 PM to 7 PM, Mary Ross Park will be host to the Holiday Market. Come browse and see the treasures the vendors have to offer.

On Saturday, December 15 from 10 AM to 4 PM in the squares along Newcastle Street, Kids and music will be featured with many performers such as Michael Hulett in Jekyll Square West, Santa in Jekyll Square East periodically throughout the day, as well as games and make-and-take crafts in the other Newcastle Street squares.
