There are many animal shelters in the area that care for dogs and cats, but there is a animal rescue on St. Simons Island that doesn’t discriminate against an animal because of its size.
The farm at Oatland North houses retired and rescued barn animals such as horses and goats and still has a few purr-babies and lap dogs around the grounds as well. The non-profit shares that donations made to the farm go towards the care of the animals.
The farm is hosting a spring festival this Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. According to their Facebook page, the event will have arts and crafts, face painting, food and games.
The animals on hand to interact with include horses, goats, cows and cats.
If you can’t make it to the spring festival, no worries! The farm features an open house each and every Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Their website also states that if you can’t attend on a Sunday, to give them a call to schedule a time to view the farm.
The farm is located at 70 Cannons Point Road and the farm’s number is 912.399.8159.
