The student who air dropped the threatening message has been apprehended. The student was not armed.
Brunswick High School officials were alerted to a school threat on Monday.
The school sent out a voicemail sent to parents and stakeholders as soon as the incident was identified by school officials and law enforcement.
Law enforcement is currently reviewing the threat.
Below is the announcement sent from the Brunswick High principal, Scott Pence.
This is Scott Spence, principal of Brunswick High School. Just before noon today an anonymous message was sent from within our building using “Air Drop” via a cell phone. The anonymous message stated that there would be a school shooting during 4th block. At this time our resource officers are reviewing video and other surveillance information to find the culprit. In addition, we have brought in more school resource officers and additional law enforcement agencies to increase supervision here at Brunswick High School. Please know that we will do everything within our power to catch the culprit and the consequences for this act will be severe and swift.
