As you meander along Glynco Parkway, you will find tucked behind the beautiful trees a “Home away from home.” HomeLife on Glynco is a personal care and memory care community in Brunswick for senior citizens. With its inviting front porch and traditional rocking chairs, one will feel right at home with its’ “southern charm” and warm welcome.
But inside the beautiful walls is where the real warmth lies. In the heart of it all, the community of HomeLife on Glynco is filled with residents and staff that have a love for life and for eachother. Abound with activities which include the essentials of daily living, residents have also been actively involved with the community as volunteers come share their gifts and local resources.
With every new season, the air is filled with excitement and anticipation. The same holds true for the season of life. HomeLife on Glynco has many exciting new activities planned as well as a new administrative team and the community is excited to see what the future holds.
All on Georgia-Glynn recently had the opportunity to interview the new Director of Marketing, Jennifer Klonoski.
Jennifer grew up in the Golden Isles. She graduated from Glynn Academy and is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development. After college, Jennifer was a Child Life Specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System-Children’s Hospital. Jennifer has an extensive background in social services, non-profit, mental health, financial services and education. She has always wanted to help people and be an advocate. Her strong background and wanting to give back to her community makes HomeLife on Glynco a perfect fit.
Jennifer is an Ambassador for the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and is on the Brunswick-Glynn Disabilities Council. Jennifer is excited about her new position at HomeLife on Glynco and truly wants new residents to feel at home at HomeLife on Glynco because home is where the heart is. Jennifer is the proud Mom of 3-year-old son, who always keeps her laughing.
All on Georgia-Glynn: Congratulations on your new position with HomeLife on Glynco and for sharing your vision for HomeLife’s future with us.
Jennifer Klonoski: Thank you, Carrie. I am excited to be the Director of Marketing for HomeLife on Glynco. We have such a wonderful team, the best residents and our grounds are stunning.
All on Georgia-Glynn: Many new exciting things are happening at HomeLife on Glynco lately. Tell us about the Lunch and Learn with the Honor Flight.
Jennifer Klonoski: HomeLife on Glynco sponsored a lunch and learn benefit for the local chapter of Coastal Georgia Honor Flight, Inc., a country-wide organization that takes veterans to see their monuments in Washington, DC free of charge. HomeLife on Glynco advocates and supports veterans and wanted to find a way to be more involved. I contacted Mark Beaudry and we set up the date and time for him to speak. I decided to make it a lunch and learn because we wanted our residents, specifically our veterans and veteran’s spouses to be involved. I also wanted to involve the community. Dr. Mike Cordle of Hospice of the Golden Isles, presented the lunch prayer, The Brunswick High School NJROTC presented the colors and the pledge of allegiance and our in-house cellist and Glynn Academy student, Sarah Weese provided music. We plan to have another lunch and learn in 2019.
All on Georgia-Glynn: Since you have taken on your new marketing position, HomeLife residents have seen a lot of new activities and events involving the community. Please share some more of these?
Jennifer Klonoski: HomeLife on Glynco hosts a variety of events, in addition to the Coastal Georgia Honor Flight, Inc. lunch and learn we have a monthly Alzheimer’s support group led by Dr. Mike Cordle of Hospice of the Golden Isles, weekly music provided by cellist Sarah Weese, and visits from GA Therapy Dogs.
Additional upcoming events include:
- Visits from Advance Rehabilitation and two local home healthcare agencies which will provide information on their services.
- The Coastal Area Agency on Aging is scheduled to provide a demonstration of their new assistive technology.
- An Atlanta church and their youth group will visit twice this year to fellowship with our residents.
- Family Health Chiropractic will provide spinal screenings for residents and staff.
- Humana recently provided a presentation on identity theft and plans to return in October.
- The Pirates of the Spanish Main will be visiting our residents to do BINGO.
- Our in-house doctor Ishmael Osta of House Calls of Coastal Georgia will provide information on the services he provides.
- A veterans event with the American Legion is planned in November.
- AARP will be doing driving classes at HomeLife in early 2019.
We are very open to all community organizations presenting at HomeLife and the public is encouraged to attend and learn. Those attending will also be able to tour our community and learn more about HomeLife on Glynco as well as the great programs we offer. Events and helpful tips are frequently posted on our HomeLife on Glynco Facebook page so be sure to visit our page for the most up to date information.
All on Georgia-Glynn: Are there any volunteer needs that you are looking for from the community?
Jennifer Klonoski: We could always use volunteers, even if it’s just 15 minutes of your time to sit on the front porch visiting with our residents. If anyone wishing to volunteer has a special skill please share it with us. For example, I would love to have painting classes or gardening classes for our residents. We happily take donations for our Activities Department such as art supplies, buttons, games, etc. I believe you must have the support of your community to grow and succeed.
All on Georgia-Glynn: What are some of your visions for the fall and holiday seasons?
Jennifer Klonoski: My visions for the fall and holiday seasons are to bring community and unity to both HomeLife on Glynco and the surrounding community by providing warmth and joy to our residents and their families. For the fall we will be planning a Georgia vs Florida Football game day (as well Ohio State vs Michigan for our Ohio friends), Trick or Treat, and a family Thanksgiving meal. Our Activities department always does a beautiful job decorating our home for each holiday, I can’t wait to see what it will look like at Christmas.
All on Georgia-Glynn: What kinds of activities and events are on your calendar for September?
Jennifer Klonoski: Our September calendar for activities and events at HomeLife on Glynco is a busy one.
- Advance Rehabilitation will be offering a presentation on fall risk prevention and easy exercise to do by yourself.
- Charlton Visiting Nurses Inc. will present their services.
- September 24: 2pm: Coastal Area Agency on Aging will be presenting their new assistive technology, which should be fun.
- September 25: 10:30am: House Calls of Coastal Georgia will showcase services to residents.
- September 27:1-5pm: Family Health Chiropractic will provide a lunch and learn for our staff and spinal screenings for staff and residents.
I will also be presenting information about HomeLife on Glynco to various community organizations such as the American Legion, the Veterans Council and the Randolph Harris Jr. Senior Citizens Center. My job consists of a lot of outreach and community involvement. If you are not active in the community, no one will know we are the best personal care home choice for their loved ones.
All on Georgia-Glynn: How do you feel HomeLife stands apart from the rest of the personal care homes in our area?
Jennifer Klonoski: HomeLife’s atmosphere sets us apart from other personal care homes in our area. As soon as you drive down HomeLife’s driveway and relax and rock in one of our rocking chairs on our wrap around front porch, you know you are home. As soon as you walk through our doors you are always greeted with a hello and a smile from residents and staff. We take great pride in our community. Plus we are the most affordable personal care home community in the area with prices starting at $2,750/month. For those who would like to visit or find out more about HomeLife on Glynco I would love to schedule a tour and answer any questions.
Also joining the HomeLife on Glynco team is the new Executive Director, Michael Herrington. Michael is a previous Golden isles resident. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and a Master of Health Science Administration. Michael brings 28 years of leadership, sales, and consulting experience to HomeLife, as well as extensive experience in the management and oversight of resident care services ranging from assisted living, hospital to hospice.

Michael is happy to return to the Golden Isles as the Executive Director of HomeLife on Glynco and would like HomeLife on Glynco to be your home for life.
